We are currently looking for a Head of Legal to NCC Industry to be based in our office in Solna or in Oslo.

About NCC Industry

NCC’s industrial operations revolve around the production of stone materials and asphalt, as well as asphalt laying. These different parts are interconnected, forming a natural processing chain that is well-integrated with NCC’s construction and civil engineering operations. NCC Industry currently has around 2900 employees and had a turnover of over 11,200 MSEK in 2022.

About the Role

As Head of Legal at NCC Industry, you will join a well-established team that provides valuable support to the entire business area NCC Industry and its various departments. NCC is a Nordic corporation with a long history and an ambitious strategy. You will enter a market-leading organization with highly engaged and competent employees. In your role, you will provide support to our legal team and management at NCC Industry. Your responsibilities will involve handling a wide range of challenges and participating in various aspects of the business. NCC Industry is part of a complex organization where you will actively navigate risk management between the company and the group, develop best practices and more.

As Head of Legal, you will highlight the value of the legal function by developing key performance indicators, processes and annual plans for the legal work. You will work systematically to continuously improve structures and results compared to efforts. The role and the function are well-established and have been in existence for a long time. The team consists of six people – one in Norway, one in Denmark and four in Sweden. The function supports the business with:

• Bidding processes and contract implementation
• Public procurement
• Complex permit processes regarding environmental permits
• Complex contracts
• Environmental processes
• Compliance with e g business ethics
• Efforts to improve general industry conditions

You will be part of NCC Industry’s management team, reporting to the Head of NCC Industry and have a dotted line of reporting to the Group General Counsel. Additionally, you will be part of a joint Legal team at NCC group level, working on developing best practices in various areas.

Who Are We Looking For?

We are looking for someone with a LL.M. degree (or equivalent degree) and qualified work experience from both a law firm and larger corporation(s), focusing on contract and construction law, public procurement, and environmental issues. Experience from clerkship at court is advantageous. Your proficiency in both Swedish or Norwegian and English, spoken as well as written, should be excellent.

You are an experienced leader who enjoys developing your team. You thrive in independently managing and prioritizing your work, handling a wide variety of issues across different areas. You also enjoy networking and relationship-building, delivering at a high level and aiming for the function to be the best. You must have a commercial interest and drive while operating in a compliant environment. To fit the role, you should have broad competence as well as be accustomed to working proactively and preventively in an outgoing and solution-oriented manner.
