At Resurs Bank, we make everyday finances easier through innovative and customer-focused solutions. With customers across the Nordics and more than 800 colleagues, we create long-term value for individuals, businesses, and society. Recognized as a Career Company for six consecutive years, we foster a welcoming culture built on growth, trust, and collaboration.

We are now looking for a Sanctions Specialist to join our team.  This is a senior and business-critical role, suited for someone who wants to combine deep sanctions expertise with governance, decision support, and cross-functional collaboration in a dynamic environment.

What we can offer you

As part of a growing first-line FCP organisation, you will have the opportunity to contribute both through your specialist expertise and through the continued development of how sanctions work is governed, prioritised, and embedded across the bank. You will play an important role in strengthening structures, supporting sound decision-making, and helping ensure that the organisation’s ways of working remain effective, relevant, and fit for purpose over time.

The role offers a strong mandate, broad internal exposure, and close collaboration with stakeholders across the business. For the right person, this is an opportunity to combine deep sanctions expertise with genuine influence on frameworks, controls, and working methods in a function that continues to grow in importance and sophistication.

About the role

As Sanctions Specialist, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and quality-assuring the organisation’s work within sanctions. The role is centred on ensuring effective processes, controls, and decision support to identify, assess, and manage sanctions risks across the business.

You will interpret and apply sanctions regulations and related requirements in a practical business context, while supporting colleagues and stakeholders in complex assessments, prioritisation, and decision-making. A key part of the role is to monitor developments in international and national sanctions regimes, assess the impact on the bank, and support the implementation of relevant changes.

You will also own and further develop the sanctions framework, including processes, instructions, and controls, and help ensure that screening tools, hit logic, and ways of working are effective and proportionate. In addition, you will support the handling of alerts, escalations, and decisions within the sanctions area, as well as more complex customer-, payment- and transaction-related sanctions assessments.

The role includes close collaboration with several parts of the organisation and involvement in incident handling, investigations, reporting, internal and external reviews, and matters connected to supervisory dialogue.

You will also act as an internal knowledge resource and advisor to management in strategic sanctions-related matters. You will report to the Head of FCP.

About you

We are looking for a senior sanctions specialist who combines strong regulatory understanding with sound judgement and a practical, business-oriented approach. You are comfortable working independently in a specialist role, supporting others in complex matters, and translating regulatory requirements into effective ways of working.

You likely bring:

  • an academic degree, preferably in law, finance, or a related field
  • several years of experience from sanctions work or closely related regulatory areas
  • strong knowledge of sanctions regulations and their practical application
  • experience from a bank or other financially regulated business
  • experience of policy work, regulatory interpretation, and governance-related matters
  • experience of screening, alert handling, and complex sanctions assessments
  • a strong analytical and structured approach, combined with high integrity
  • the ability to collaborate across functions and communicate complex matters in a clear and pedagogical way
  • excellent communication skills in both Swedish and English
