Legal Counsel to Mehiläinen Group

We are now looking for a Legal Counsel to join Mehiläinen Group in Stockholm and have a key role in its continued expansion.

About the role

As Legal Counsel, you will take primary responsibility for legal matters in Sweden, coordinate legal affairs in Norway and Denmark and participate in international transactions.

Your main focus will be on M&A, independently managing smaller and medium-sized acquisitions while supporting larger strategic transactions. You will also provide broader corporate and commercial legal advice, working closely with senior management, business stakeholders and external advisers. You will report to the Group General Counsel on legal matters.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Independently managing M&A transactions and supporting larger cross-border acquisitions, from a legal point of view.
• Structuring transactions and drafting and negotiating transaction agreements.
• Managing legal due diligence and coordinating transaction workstreams.
• Assessing legal and commercial risks and providing practical solutions.
• Coordinating regulatory and competition law matters with external advisers.
• Supporting transaction completion, integration and post-closing activities.
• Advising senior management on corporate, commercial and strategic legal matters.

About you

We are looking for a commercially minded lawyer with strong M&A expertise, excellent analytical skills and the confidence to manage the legal aspects of transactions independently.

To succeed in this role, you:

• Hold a Swedish Master of Laws degree (Jur.kand./LL.M.) or equivalent qualification.
• Have solid M&A experience, preferably around 5–7 years, gained at a reputable business law firm.
• Have strong knowledge of Swedish corporate law and experience drafting and negotiating transaction agreements.
• Have experience managing due diligence and independently driving transactions.
• Possess excellent analytical, drafting and negotiation skills.
• Demonstrate strong commercial judgment and the ability to manage multiple projects.
• Are fluent in Swedish and English, both written and spoken.

Cross-border transaction experience is highly valued, while healthcare industry experience is an advantage but not required.
