About the role
We are looking for an experienced legal and insurance professional to join Sweco Group and play a key role in developing and managing our global insurance programmes and risk management processes.
This is an opportunity to take on a central role in shaping insurance and risk management across one of Europe’s leading consulting companies. The position also includes supporting the continued development of Sweco’s captive and reinsurance operations.
Your main responsibility will be to support the management and development of insurance programmes across Sweco Group, including the annual procurement and renewal processes. As an internal subject matter expert on insurance coverage, primarily in relation to professional indemnity and general liability insurance, you will negotiate Sweco Group’s insurance policies, reinsurance programmes, insurance broker agreements, other insurance-related service agreements and selected ICT-related service agreements.
You will coordinate Sweco’s insurance programmes together with appointed brokers and insurers. During the renewal process, you will be responsible for ensuring that the Group obtains appropriate insurance coverage at a competitive cost. A key part of the role is to monitor developments in the insurance market and continuously assess whether the Group’s insurance programmes remain sufficient as the business evolves.
You will also be responsible for the day-to-day management of insurance matters, working closely with internal stakeholders, insurers, brokers and other service providers. In addition, you will manage, maintain and develop insurance-related risk management processes, including frameworks for access to master and excess-layer insurance programmes for Professional Indemnity, PI, and General Liability, GL, coverage, premium allocation and related matters.
You will support the business in large and complex claims, helping to make the claims process and interaction with insurers as efficient as possible. The role also includes ensuring the quality of procedures relating to premium distribution, claims reporting and insurance documentation. In addition, you will contribute to the Group’s broader risk management processes and matters relating to legal compliance.
You will be part of the team responsible for Sweco’s newly established internal captive and reinsurance operations and will help develop reinsurance procedures involving the captive.
About you
You have an academic degree in Law/ Engineering/Risk Management or similar. You have at least five years of experience working with insurance and risk management from a legal perspective. Experience working with insurance programmes and captive arrangements is considered an advantage. Communicative skills are important as you will work closely with stakeholders throughout the organisation. You are business-minded with strong interpersonal and analytical skills needed to ensure the best solutions for the Group. You are comfortable working in a changing environment and have experience using digital tools and software solutions to improve efficiency.
Fluency in both Swedish and English, written and spoken, is required.
The position is within Group Legal, a function at the Sweco Group Headquarters, located in Stockholm. The position will report to the General Counsel.
