Head of Financial Crime Prevention to Resurs Bank

Are you an experienced leader within Financial Crime Prevention who wants to combine deep expertise with real influence in a changing business? Resurs Bank is now looking for a Head of Financial Crime Prevention to take on a key role in leading, developing, and strengthening the bank’s Financial Crime Prevention work.
About the role
As Resurs Bank continues to strengthen its Financial Crime Prevention work, the bank is looking for a senior and experienced professional who can contribute leadership, direction, and expertise across the organisation. This is a key leadership role with broad responsibility for leading and developing the bank’s first-line Financial Crime Prevention function, with close interaction with senior management and the Board.
You will lead an important function in a business where Financial Crime Prevention is a clear priority. The role combines people leadership, strategic perspective, and close involvement in key questions across AML and manage sanctions risks across the business. You will be expected to work both at a strategic and guiding level, while also being hands-on and operational when needed. Someone who is pragmatic, prestigiousless, and ready to roll up their sleeves to ensure progress and delivery.
About the department
The Financial Crime Prevention department (“FCP”) is growing and you will be a crucial part shaping it. Today the department consists of 3 FCP Specialists with aim to be more, an FCP Manager leading an operations team of aproximately 15 employees within enhanced due diligence analytics and investigation.
About the role
As Head of FCP, you are responsible for leading and developing the bank’s AML/CFT and sanctions framework, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements while driving effective, risk-based ways of working.
You own the interpretation and implementation of regulatory requirements, translating them into clear governance, policies, processes, and controls across the organisation. You ensure that financial crime risks are effectively identified, assessed, and managed, and that frameworks are robust, proportionate, and aligned with supervisory expectations.
You lead continuous improvement by challenging outdated ways of working and strengthening processes, efficiency, and decision-making across AML/CFT and sanctions. This includes both setting the long-term direction and taking an active role in practical implementation, execution, and follow-through.
The FCP Manager and FCP Specialists report to you, and you are responsible for leading, developing, and structuring the FCP function. This includes setting direction, enabling strong leadership, and ensuring effective organisational development, capability building, and employee engagement across the function.
The role includes close collaboration with senior stakeholders, responsibility for regulatory interactions, audits, and supervisory dialogue, as well as acting as a strategic advisor to management on financial crime risks and developments.
As a leader, you set clear priorities and expectations for the function and ensure delivery with accountability, structure, and impact
About you
We are looking for a senior FCP professional with strong leadership capability, sound judgement, and the confidence to take ownership of a broad and business-critical area.
To succeed in this role, we believe you bring:
- proven leadership experience and the ability to lead through others
- solid experience within financial crime prevention and sanctions
- experience from regulated financial services businesses
- strong stakeholder management skills, including communication with senior management and the Board
- experience within change management and driving complex transformations in regulated environments
- excellent communication skills in both Swedish and English
- a pragmatic and hands-on approach, with the ability to move between strategic direction, operational execution, and practical problem-solving
- a law degree or other relevant academic background
You are a confident and structured leader who knows how to create direction, set priorities, and build trust in a complex environment. You are comfortable working in a business-close setting and know how to balance regulatory requirements with commercial realities.
A background from larger and well-established FCP environments is highly valued, as is the ability to combine strategic perspective with a pragmatic and hands-on approach when needed. You are prestigiousless, proactive, and comfortable stepping in where needed to drive progress, create clarity, and ensure strong delivery.
Location and ways of working
The role is primarily based in Stockholm. Travel to Helsingborg is a natural part of the role, especially during the first six months. The role follows a hybrid model with office presence and flexibility for remote work in agreement with the manager.
